Vice City is back. Here's every confirmed location, the leaked map size, and what Rockstar has shown us so far about the GTA 6 world.
Rockstar confirmed in Trailer 1 (December 2023) and Trailer 2 (May 2025) that GTA 6 is set in Vice City — the fictional version of Miami, Florida. This marks the first return to Vice City since GTA: Vice City in 2002.
The trailer shows a modern-day Vice City with updated architecture, diverse neighborhoods, beachfront areas, and a sprawling metropolitan area that extends far beyond the original game's map.
The main city hub. Shown in trailers with beachfront districts, downtown skyscrapers, nightclubs, and suburban neighborhoods. Modern-day setting.
Trailer shows swampland, rural highways, and countryside areas surrounding the city — suggesting a large map extending beyond Vice City proper.
Leaks suggest a port city separate from Vice City, potentially based on a Florida Gulf Coast city like Tampa or Fort Lauderdale.
Multiple leakers have mentioned Florida Keys-inspired island chains accessible by boat or plane south of the main map.
While Rockstar hasn't officially announced map dimensions, leaks and developer comments suggest GTA 6 will have the largest open world in Rockstar history.
RELATIVE SIZE COMPARISON
*Estimates based on leaks and trailer analysis. Official size not confirmed.
The trailer prominently features a Miami Beach-style area with art deco architecture, beachfront hotels, and a vibrant nightlife district. This appears to be one of the main starting areas.
A dense urban core with modern skyscrapers, shown in several trailer shots. Features highways, underpasses, and a large financial district based on Miami's Brickell neighborhood.
The trailer explicitly shows a district inspired by Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood — colorful murals, local businesses, and a distinct cultural atmosphere.
Rural Florida is confirmed — swamps, alligators, pickup trucks, and country roads. "Leonida" appears to be the state name for the fictional Florida in GTA 6.
A Las Vegas-style beach strip with casinos, clubs, and hotels. Multiple trailer shots show this area at night with neon lights and heavy foot traffic.
